Before being recruited by his bank, Mr. Heinlen was the chief executive officer at Services Center Federal Credit Union from 2016 to 2019. During his tenure, he focused on revitalizing the organization, streamlining operations and supporting staff to achieve collective goals. Between 2012 and 2016, Mr. Heinlen held the same title at Northwest Consumers Federal Credit Union, where he continued to demonstrate his expertise in organizational turnaround and team building.
Mr. Heinlen’s earlier experience included serving as an account executive at Safety Net from 2009 to 2012. He also held two positions at Irwin Union Bank. Hired in 2006 as a commercial relationship manager, he was promoted to assistant vice president and branch manager from 2007 to 2009, where he was responsible for managing client portfolios and driving branch performance. Mr. Heinlen’s career in banking began in 2002 at National City Bank, which was later acquired by PNC Financial Services.
Mr. Heinlen’s educational background included an Associate of Science from Northwestern Michigan College, earned in 2006. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is actively involved in civic and community organizations. Since 2008, Mr. Heinlen has volunteered with Swing Shift. He also supports the Hayden McCutcheon Memorial Fund, veterans’ initiatives and cancer centers, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community. In 2016, Mr. Heinlen notably served as a board alternate for the Michigan Credit Union League.
