Stephen Jon Brandow, Catholic Priest and Diocesan Scout Chaplain at The Diocese of Alexandria, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in religion.
Since the Rev. Brandow was ordained as a Catholic priest more than 20 years ago, he has been a widely regarded religious leader with The Diocese of Alexandria. Additionally, he serves as a chaplain with the Alexandria VA Health Care System in association with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The Rev. Brandow is also a dedicated public servant who recently celebrated 15 years as a member of the community advisory board with the Louisiana Purchase Council of the Boy Scouts of America. For more than 20 years, he has served as a member of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.
Early in his career, the Rev. Brandow received a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Northwestern State University. Upon completing a Master of Divinity with the Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology in 1996, he joined The Diocese of Alexandria as a secretary. The Rev. Brandow went on to serve as a chaplain with the Central Louisiana State Hospital and CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital at the turn of the century. He has since been recognized as a committee member with the Continuing Formation of Clergy. In 2021, he completed a mindfulness meditation teacher certificate. The Rev. Brandow currently serves as the chair of the board of directors of the National Association of VA Chaplains. He has twice served as president of the Louisiana Chaplains Association.
In recognition of his contributions to the Catholic Church, the Rev. Brandow was selected to receive the Pelican Award from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting in 2003. He has also received the Whitney Young Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America, in addition to being named a James E. West Fellow in 2002. Throughout his career, the Rev. Brandow has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including the 56th through 66th editions of Who’s Who in America, as well as the 20th through 27th editions of Who’s Who in the World.
