Rev. Dr. Marilyn Dixon Hill, Ministerial Associate and Elder at Centerville Outreach Ministries Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Spiritual Services and Advocacy.

Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill has dedicated her life to service, leadership and advocacy across ministry, nursing and community health. For the past five years, she has served as a ministerial associate and elder at Centerville Outreach Ministries Inc., where her work is defined by a commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives. In this role, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill has focused on meeting the needs of a congregation that includes many individuals with little or no prior experience with Christianity, often coming directly from challenging backgrounds. Her approach emphasizes not only spiritual guidance but also the cultivation of love and self-worth among those she serves.

Leveraging her previous success, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill spent 25 years at Camden Bible Tabernacle, a small and well-organized church where she held a unique position with designated responsibilities. She led Bible studies, preached on scheduled days and guided a group of young adult women. Her ministry extended beyond the church walls through participation in correctional ministry, preaching at local jails and occasionally visiting nursing homes to provide spiritual support. Despite the structured nature of these activities, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill felt called to reach those most in need of salvation, prompting her eventual transition to Centerville Outreach Ministries Inc.

Before her extensive ministerial work, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill built a distinguished career as a registered nurse for more than 20 years. Her expertise in both physical and spiritual nursing became widely recognized. During her nursing tenure, she became deeply involved in community health initiatives, particularly through Neighborhood Health Connections. Collaborating with Virtua-West Jersey Hospital and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill trained 20 neighborhood health advisers who educated residents about diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma. This 20-week program was instrumental in shifting mindsets within the community by empowering neighbors to support one another, a model that highlighted the contrast between institutional care and the realities faced by patients at home.

Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill’s academic journey reflects her dedication to both health care and theology. She earned an associate degree in nursing science, cum laude, from Camden County College in 1991, a bachelor’s degree in bible and biblical studies from the Grace Bible Institute in 2009, and both a master’s degree in theology and a Doctor of Philosophy in theology and advanced theological studies from the International Christian University in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill has also held registered nurse certification from the Helene Fuld College of Nursing since 1991.

Beyond work, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill’s civic involvement has been extensive. She has served as a community liaison for Camden Churches and has volunteered with Neighborhood Health Connections, Virtua-West Jersey Hospital and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill’s advocacy extended beyond clinical care into direct intervention for individuals facing complex challenges. Among her most significant achievements was assisting a fellow church member, a mathematics teacher, who struggled with undiagnosed vision problems and inadequate medical attention. Drawing on her dual expertise in nursing and ministry, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill advocated for proper referrals and treatment, ultimately stabilizing the teacher’s vision and helping her secure necessary benefits after a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. This intervention preserved the teacher’s employment and ensured her long-term well-being.

Crediting strong educators who emphasized active engagement over passive learning as key influences on her success, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill’s professors encouraged her to tackle challenging cases early on, fostering resilience and competence that would define her career. She also notes her unwavering faith.

Looking ahead, Rev. Dr. Dixon Hill plans to further expand her expertise by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biblical counseling at Newburgh College, which will formalize her counseling skills and enable her to guide individuals through trauma toward hope and healing. Her career stands as a testament to resilience, compassion and unwavering faith, qualities that have shaped every aspect of her service in nursing, ministry and community leadership.
