In 2025, Mr. Whaley assumed the position of manufacturing supervisor at Solventum. In this capacity, he oversees all second-shift employees and manages a team of 60 direct reports. His responsibilities include ensuring manufacturing processes comply with ISO standards, meeting production targets, identifying and addressing quality control issues, and supervising and coaching staff. Mr. Whaley also coordinates with team leaders to maintain accurate inventory levels, ensures the availability of raw materials for stethoscope assembly and upholds rigorous quality standards throughout the production process.
Before being named to his supervisory role, Mr. Whaley served as a manufacturing crew coordinator at Solventum from 2024 to 2025. During this period, he was instrumental in coordinating production teams and supporting operational efficiency across shifts. Earlier in 2024, Mr. Whaley served as the quality assurance team leader.
Pivoting from 3M to Solventum, Mr. Whaley’s initial experience as a stethoscope assembler from 2015 to 2016 provided him with hands-on insight into manufacturing operations and set the stage for his subsequent advancement within the organization. He then served as a quality assurance inspector between 2016 and 2017 and as a quality assurance team leader from 2017 to 2024. Between 2018 and 2019, Mr. Whaley also excelled as a temporary quality assurance document coordinator at 3M. His tenure with the organization was distinguished by his ability to mentor colleagues and foster a culture of accountability and precision.
Throughout his career, Mr. Whaley has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which has equipped him with advanced problem-solving techniques and process-optimization strategies essential for maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing environments. Among Mr. Whaley’s most notable career milestones was completing pharmaceutical training focused on Canadian drug regulations and their relationship to U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines. This two-day certification enhanced his regulatory knowledge and enabled him to coach colleagues on cross-border compliance issues, a critical asset given the significant business conducted with Canada.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Whaley is civically engaged through involvement with United Way, reflecting his commitment to community service.
The values instilled by Mr. Whaley’s military parents have been central to his approach to work.
