Mr. Gifford has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in cybersecurity, currently serving as the vice president and chief information security officer at Intrado Life & Safety Inc. in Longmont, Colorado, since 2024. In this capacity, he oversees the company’s internal cyber program and all its products, playing a pivotal role in safeguarding critical 911 services nationwide. Mr. Gifford’s commitment to the essential role of 911 as a national service motivates his work, and he draws inspiration from knowing that his efforts directly contribute to the country’s security and safety.

Before joining Intrado Life & Safety Inc., Mr. Gifford held the title of chief information security officer at United Launch Alliance (ULA) in Denver, Colorado, from 2022 to 2024. During his brief tenure, he was instrumental in preparing the organization to achieve ISO 27001 certification and laying the groundwork for CMMC 2.0 compliance, a key U.S. Department of Defense requirement that ULA now meets.

Between 2020 and 2022, Mr. Gifford served as a global director of information technology security at Ball Corporation in Broomfield, Colorado. He led the integration of Rexam following its $9.5 billion acquisition by Ball Corporation, coordinating with regulators across the United States, Europe and South America to maintain robust security throughout the process.

In 2019 and 2020, Mr. Gifford excelled as a senior manager of enterprise applications and data protection at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., where he oversaw critical data security functions for the financial institution. His earlier roles at Ball Corporation included serving as a global technical lead for operations and as manager of global information technology security operations from 2017 to 2019. In these positions, Mr. Gifford directed international teams and advanced global cybersecurity initiatives.

Mr. Gifford’s tenure at Ball Aerospace, now BAE Systems, in Broomfield was his most significant, spanning from 1997 to 2017. Hired shortly after earning his undergraduate degree, he served as a senior infrastructure systems administrator for more than a decade, during which he was instrumental in supporting mission-critical systems for aerospace projects. Mr. Gifford then pivoted into the role of senior security administrator in 2010, where he managed the security lifecycle for the WorldView-3 satellite. He oversaw all integration work with partners through launch, marking a milestone as it was the first time connections were established with the government launch network at Vandenberg Space Launch Complex. This enabled real-time access for engineers and scientists in Boulder, significantly reducing friction and travel costs.

Mr. Gifford’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Wright State University, completed in 1997, and a master’s degree in information assurance from the University of Maryland Global Campus, earned in 2014. His educational achievements have provided a strong foundation for his professional accomplishments in information security. Additionally, Mr. Gifford holds several industry certifications, including CISSP from ISC2, Inc., and GSLC from The Escal Institute of Advanced Technologies, Inc. d/b/a SANS Institute. These credentials underscore his commitment to maintaining high standards within his field.
