Chris J. Teakle, Executive Director at Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Business Operations Management.
Mr. Teakle’s career is marked by a series of strategic roles that have honed his expertise in business operations management. Since 2025, he has served as the executive director of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Hampton Bays, New York. In this capacity, he has successfully secured $10 million in donor funding and is currently overseeing the rollout of seven major programs planned for 2026. Mr. Teakle’s strategic mindset and ability to cultivate donor relationships have been instrumental in shifting the organization’s strategy toward stronger community engagement.
Retained by the foundation after spending 25 years in a different field, Mr. Teakle sought to use his skills from real estate, chartered accountancy and his work as a director of partnerships at his most recent company to help the nonprofit thrive. The shelter decided to shift from hiring someone with traditional sheltering experience to someone with strong business skills, and he fit that description.
Before his current role, Mr. Teakle was the director of partnerships at International Workplace Group plc, a global leader in hybrid and platform working based in Switzerland, from 2024 to 2025. Working remotely from New York, he was instrumental in increasing system revenue by $5 million to $10 million each year, delivering at least 20 new partner locations annually.
Mr. Teakle’s tenure at F45 Training in Williamsburg, New York, from 2016 to 2024 saw him navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while owning his own fitness studio in New York City. Despite the uncertainty, he retained all staff and members and ultimately sold the business at a profit. Earlier in his career, Mr. Teakle excelled for over a decade as the director of Prime Real Estate, a real estate company in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, from 2003 to 2016, where he helped high-net-worth clients from places like Singapore, England and Dubai secure properties within the country. Additionally, he worked in Melbourne as a mergers and acquisitions senior manager at AWB between 1997 and 2003, following his role as a senior accountant at Ernst & Young from 1993 to 1997.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Teakle earned a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting and economics from Deakin University in 1991, which laid the groundwork for his success across various industries. Additionally, he received certifications as a licensed estate agent in 2003 and completed Scotwork Negotiating Skills training in negotiation that same year.
Mr. Teakle’s civic involvement included serving on the board of directors for Valley Preferred Cycling Center, a premier cycling venue based in Pennsylvania, from 2023 to 2025. He enjoys giving back to local organizations and causes. An active individual, Mr. Teakle is very passionate about fitness and has engaged in numerous triathlons and cycling events.
Throughout his career, Mr. Teakle has been influenced by many mentors who have shaped his approach to leadership and strategy. He attributes much of his accomplishments to the strong work ethic instilled by his parents and emphasizes that hard work, consistency and self-reliance are key drivers of achievement. Mr. Teakle’s advice to the younger generation is to let passion guide their decisions, as it often leads to fulfillment and success.
Looking ahead, Mr. Teakle aims to increase the visibility of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation within the Southampton community and diversify its revenue streams. He believes that highlighting the exceptional work performed by his team, which often goes unnoticed, such as caring for animals who may spend months or even a full year at the shelter before finding a home, will strengthen the shelter’s presence and impact.
