Kurt Radtke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Vestigium LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Mineral Exploration.
After a long and fulfilling career in the military, Mr. Radtke transitioned into the private sector, where his career has had a remarkable trajectory through increasingly senior positions across the global mining industry. As the founder and chief executive officer of Vestigium LLC since 2026, he manages 850 employees, including contractors and direct buyers, and oversees mineral exploration across nine sites. His expertise in extremely remote and difficult topography mineral exploration has earned him recognition as one of the field’s foremost authorities. Mr. Radtke is particularly proud of steering steady growth within his business, maintaining momentum where many consulting startups falter. Recently returning from a project in Brazil and preparing for work in Tanzania and Zambia, he continues to be sought after for his strategic insight into operations throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council region and beyond.
Before establishing Vestigium LLC, Mr. Radtke held several key roles at Maaden in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest mining companies, for over five years. From 2025 to 2026, he served as the vice president of field operations and logistics, following two years as the director of field operations exploration, beginning in 2023. Between 2021 and 2023, Mr. Radtke was the drilling manager at Maaden. During this period, he led what became the world’s largest mineral exploration program, growing the team from 16 to more than 1,200 individuals, and played a pivotal role in expanding gold holdings while shifting focus toward copper exploration. These accomplishments represent the highlight of his professional journey.
Aside from his contributions at Maaden, Mr. Radtke was the Nevada area manager at Major Drilling in Elko, Nevada, in 2021 after serving as the company’s underground general foreman from 2020 to 2021. He was initially hired by First Drilling LLC Underground, now Major Drilling, in 2020 as the Nevada underground operations manager. Earlier roles included QHSE specialist and area manager for Alaska at Imdex Ltd. between 2015 and 2020. Mr. Radtke began his career as the general manager of BLY-Saudi Arabia at Boart Longyear in 2012.
Raised in Australia after his parents relocated there for his mother’s nursing career and his father’s professorship, Mr. Radtke returned to the United States in 1976. Following his parents’ divorce, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1984 immediately after graduating from Kearney High School. Over a distinguished 20-year military career as a platoon sergeant until 2004, Mr. Radtke developed guiding principles that would shape his professional life, which included leading from the front, taking charge when responsible, and accepting accountability for decisions. These tenets became foundational to his approach in both military and civilian roles.
Mr. Radtke’s academic background included earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in business administration and management with an emphasis on program management and a Master of Business Administration, both acquired from American Military University. He also received several industry credentials that further underscore his expertise, including as an underground mining instructor and surface mining instructor by the U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30, 10 and 500 via the OSHA Training Center, OHSA-Safety-Training.com, and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, respectively.
Active in community and civic initiatives, Mr. Radtke is a member of Student Veterans of America and serves on boards supporting veterans’ organizations and suicide survivors. He also works alongside his wife by participating in charity work and serving on boards dedicated to community welfare. Notably, Mr. Radtke received Alaska’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2000 for teaching adult education courses to individuals recovering from substance abuse, a testament to his commitment to service beyond professional obligations.
Throughout this extensive career, Mr. Radtke distinguished himself by embracing opportunities wherever they arose, often being placed globally due to his proficiency in Arabic, German, French and Spanish. His ability to immerse himself in local cultures by learning languages and customs has been instrumental in building trust with international partners. Mr. Radtke credits much of his success to being open to chance encounters and seizing opportunities as they presented themselves rather than following a rigid plan. He also notes the unwavering support from his wife, his partner both personally and professionally, who encouraged him to pursue new ventures even after military retirement.
Mr. Radtke’s journey underscores that success is shaped by resilience through adversity, openness to new experiences and steadfast support networks, principles that have guided him from humble beginnings through a distinguished international career in mineral exploration. Looking ahead, he aims to continue making significant contributions within global mineral exploration while deepening relationships with family members whom he regards as the foundation of all achievements.
