Previously, she served as director of new business meetings and conferences at International Travel Bureau, Inc. from 1990 to 1995, and director of new business meetings and conferences at CDI Travel, Inc. from 1986 to 1989.

Ms. Dougherty Marcus began her career as vice president of marketing and sales at HealthCare Expo ’85 from 1984 to 1986 and vice president of executive sales at Media Direction and New Business Development at Lavey/Wolff/Swift from 1975 to 1984. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at The City College of New York, undertaking coursework to equip herself with essential knowledge in her field. She continued her academic efforts while concurrently building her career, culminating in her completion of certified meeting professional from the Convention Liaison Council, Meeting Professionals International in 1991.

Following these accomplishments, Ms. Dougherty Marcus has continued to be an active contributor to her community and professional circles. She has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her primary vocation, including serving as luncheon program chair at The Welcome Club of Sarasota/Manatee and president of the board of directors at Child Find of America. In addition to her civic engagements, she has maintained her involvement with various organizations related to her expertise, such as the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, where she holds the titles of co-founder, founder emeritus, and historian. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career, including being recognized as a finalist for the Cinderella to CEO™ Awards in 2019 and receiving a nomination for the Jefferson Award for Public Service in 2006. With a legacy of innovation and leadership, Ms. Dougherty Marcus continues to make significant contributions to the event planning and management industry.
