With more than 60 years of professional experience, Ms. Wurth worked as the advertising and business manager with the Catholic Sun from 1985 until her retirement in 2004. Prior to obtaining this role, she was an account and sales representative at Computer Graphics from 1981 to 1985, and an account representative with Data Corporation from 1978 to 1981. Earlier in her career, she was a branch manager with National Auto Glass from 1976 to 1978 and president of Newman Auto Glass, Inc., from 1958 to 1976.
Ms. Wurth began her career as a student at Bowling Green University, earning a diploma in business in 1956. She later completed coursework with Phoenix Junior College from 1978 to 1980. Ms. Wurth became involved in her profession through her faith; she prayed for guidance and was led in the right direction. In her career, she has excelled as matters pertaining to leadership, personnel management and organization.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Wurth has been an active leader in her community. She is a member of the Catholic Press Association, the Association of Church Press, and the Arizona Newspaper Association. The former governor of Soroptimist International of the Americas, she also served as president of the National Association of Insurance Women. A highlight of Ms. Wurth’s life was being inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. She started playing softball because her father encouraged her into the sport.
