Dr. Li immigrated to the United States in 1985. He pursued an education at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and earned a Master of Science in electrical engineering. He obtained a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 1996. Dr. Li began his professional career as a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs, AT&T, formerly known as Lucent Technologies, from 1995 to 2002, and currently, he is the chief technology officer and chief scientist at Li Creative Technologies Inc.
Notably, Dr. Li was an invited judge of the CES Innovation Awards from 2015 to 2019. A reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences, he is the author of the book, “Speaker Authentication,” and has authored several articles and papers for journals. Dr. Li has been issued more than 15 U.S. patents and is the founder of three technology companies in the U.S. He has been awarded several research grants and contracts, and has invented important, life-changing technology, such as auditory transform for DSP, speaker authentication for security, accurate machine translation for artificial intelligence, and 3D audio for virtual reality.
In recognition of his success, Dr. Li is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and has received the CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award, the Best Consumer Electronic Product/Company Award, the Small Business Success Award, and multiple Bell Labs Patent Awards. In order to remain ahead of changes and developments in the field, he remains affiliated with the IEEE Signal Processing Society, the IEEE Speech and Language Technical Committee, and serves on several technical committees for numerous national conferences. As a testament to his success, Dr. Li has been featured in the 54th and 55th editions of Who’s Who in America.
