Mr. Miller became involved in his profession while working in the library division for the International Monetary Fund in 1985. Originally working an all-manual labor position, when they received computers, it fell into his lap to install them. Upon taking on his new task, Mr. Miller would start working at 9 a.m. and realize the workday was over in no time, as he loved every minute of working with the computers. Mr. Miller started his professional career as a government contractor with a small firm in 1986, and he has remained in the business ever since. Eventually opening his own business, he has served as the owner of Vertical Integrations since 1997. In 2016, he became the owner and chief executive officer of BEM Consulting, LLC, as well as the owner of BMW LLC in 2018. He continues to excel in his distinguished positions today.
Mr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science in information systems from the University of Maryland in 1994. Upon completion of his degree, he received certifications in security plus and network plus. Mr. Miller attributes his career success to his ability to check his ego at the door when he walks in and focus on his tasks. As information technology is an ever-changing and growing field, he is always willing to learn and listen to guidance from other industry professionals. As a testament to his success, Mr. Miller has been inducted as a member of Comp TIA and AFCEA, as well as a partner with Microsoft. Civically, he sits on the board of trustees for the Barrie School.
