Godfrey Bethea, Jr., Vice President at Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in formulating organizational strategies.

Following obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1998 from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Bethea continued his education with a Master of Business Administration in 2011 from Waynesburg University. He found much success as manager of commercial and retail services from 1998 to 2002 with McCarthy Tire and a co-manager from 2004 to 2006 and manager of diversity business practices with 84 Lumber from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Bethea excelled as a human resource analyst and business partner from 2008 to 2016 with Gateway Health Plan in Pittsburgh and as a diversity, equity, and inclusion specialist from 2016 to 2021 with FedEx Ground

In 2016, Mr. Bethea founded Urban Enterprise Business Solutions LLC, a premier organization dedicated to helping uplift communities by connecting aspiring individuals with resources needed to advance themselves to a level of self-sufficiency. In addition to community resource services, Urban Enterprise strives to partner with entrepreneurs to launch start-up businesses and turn entrepreneurs’ dreams of owning a small business into reality. In addition, since 2021 Mr. Bethea has served as vice president of Equity, People, and Culture with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, where he actively participates in developing and implementing organizational strategy.

Mr. Bethea has received numerous honors for his efforts in organizational strategy, including being named Community Champion for Pittsburgh, along with a Rising Star Award and Five Star Award from FedEx Ground and official recognition by the company’s Leadership and Inclusion Program, Veterans Employee Network and Engaging People and Inspiring Change Network.

Mr. Bethea attributes his success to the different training and certification programs that he underwent for diversity, equity and inclusion which he considers the foundational aspect of his learning. It also enabled him to impact not only FedEx Ground but the previous companies for which he has worked.

Being the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist at FedEx Ground as well as being the Vice President of Equity, People and Culture at Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has been Mr. Bethea’s most notable accomplishment. He helps these institutions establish external acknowledgment from establishment and business resources groups. In the coming years, he hopes to provide a broader impact not only to the community but nationally as well. Mr. Bethea also intends to publish a memoir or an industry-standard book on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
