After obtaining an associate degree in business management from SUNY Westchester Community College in 1991, Ms. Golson provided superior service as a manager in several medical offices and as owner of the JMK Billing Company for 12 years. She is certified as a medical coder, in which she updates patient records with standardized information needed for data management and billing purposes.
Perceiving that there was a need for mental health services for those suffering from depression and anxiety, Ms. Golson founded Golson Family Services in Concord, North Carolina in 2019, a premier nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a therapeutic milieu for mental health and substance abuse services to families and individuals within the community. Ms. Golson attributes her success to hard work as well as to the doctors that she worked for in the past who happened to inspire her. As a career highlight, she cites helping one of her clients who was facing a very challenging time in his life, when she gave him a part-time job at her office and he was eventually hired at Purdue University. In the coming years, Ms. Golson is hoping for the continued growth and success of Golson Family Services.
