John W. Lovitt, EdD, LPC, President and Chief Executive Officer with Lovitt Consulting LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology and organizational development.
Since 2004, Dr. Lovitt has been the president and chief executive officer of Lovitt Consulting LLC, as well as a family systems therapist with Lovitt Psychotherapy. He is the author of “Who’s Telling the Truth Anyway? A Guide to Standards, Boundaries, and Care-Frontation” in 2010 and “Who’s Listening Anyway? A Guide to Effective Listening” in 2001. In his current posts, Dr. Lovitt handles many certifications, including teaching how to develop quality teams, how to measure quality, and communication skills. His areas of expertise include organizational development, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.
In preparation for his career pursuits, Dr. Lovitt attended the University of Georgia, earning a master’s degree, and later earned an additional master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi College with a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology and earned a Doctor of Education in counselor education, with cognates in adult education and gerontology, from Mississippi State University in 1979. Dr. Lovitt is certified in communication skills by the University of Georgia and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He remains affiliated with the Texas Counseling Association, Southern Gerontological Society, and Mississippi Gerontological Society. In the coming years, Dr. Lovitt plans to write many books.
