With nearly five decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Elder is a proven leader in the field of retail management. Since 1983, he has operated with Love Box Company, a previously family-owned business that was sold to Pratt Retail Specialties LLC in 2005. Having originally joined as a manufacturing manager, he has operated as the vice president of the company since 1997. Mr. Elder also previously served as the chief operating officer from 1993 to 2005.
Prior to joining Love Box Company, Mr. Elder operated as the general manager of Ozark Forest Products in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from 1978 to 1983. Additionally, he served as a manager for Love Agricultural Resources in Elk City, Kansas, between 1976 and 1977. Mr. Elder began his career in 1976, working as a stockman for Esperance Land and Development Company in Western Australia.
Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Elder pursued a formal education. To wit, he studied at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature in 1973. In addition to his academic credentials, he is also a Lyon’s certified trainer, having completed the John & Josh Lyons Certification Program in 2010. As part of his dedication in the field, Mr. Elder also remains active in his community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly volunteering with the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and American Vision.
Alongside his primary work endeavors, Mr. Elder is also a proud farmer. Horses and ranching have been staples of his family for many years, and he is proud to be continuing the family tradition after so many years. Accounting for his accomplished career, he attributes much of his success to the love and support of his wife and community. In the coming years, Mr. Elder hopes to continue setting a positive example for the children in his community.
