The jewelry is non-toxic, made in the United States, and uses pearls and genuine stones. In the memory of her daughter, whom Ms. Adams lost to a brain tumor, she created ExVotoVintage and donates a portion of her sales to The Cure Starts Now Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research. She also donates to The American Red Cross, volunteers with the World Central Kitchen’s Fundraiser for Ukraine, and contributes to the Texas Diaper Bank.
Ms. Adams’ work at ExVotoVintage has been recognized with features in several articles in publications. She was featured in Southern Living, InStyle, and Garden & Gun’s “Gift Guide.” She was named Best Jeweler in the State of Alabama by Alabama Magazine in 2022, was nominated for Alabama Retailer of the Year in 2016, and was named Small Business of the Year by the Women’s Committee of 100 for Birmingham Inc. in 2015. Ms. Adams is a member of the Female Founder Collective, and in her spare time, she enjoys collecting art, painting, traveling, and reading. In the coming years, her goal is to grow the business and eventually sell it, staying on as a creative director. Ms. Adams also hopes to publish her book about her daughter’s journey in battling cancer.
