John P.  Therrien, Founder & Retired Executive Director at Community Homes Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nonprofit administration.

With decades of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Therrien has excelled as the founder and the retired executive director for Community Homes Inc., which he had established alongside his wife, Ann, for their daughter, Jenny, in 1995. A non-profit organization that focuses on providing adult family homes and services to individuals with developmental and intellectual impairments, Community Homes Inc. utilizes licensed in-house caregivers, emphasizes the importance of community and has provided their residents with seven family homes and six shared living units to date. Prior to this position, he worked as an insurance broker, focusing on property and casualty insurance. During this time, Mr. Thierren was additionally active as the president of the board of directors for Eastside Catholic School and the president of the Insurance Agents & Brokers of King County.

Before embarking on his path, Mr. Therrien proudly served in the U.S. Army between 1945 and 1946. He subsequently pursued a formal education, eventually concluding his studies at Pacific Lutheran University with a master’s degree in 1983. Having been more interested in the commercial side of his business as opposed to the residential side, he was grateful for the opportunity to be challenged by the variety of community homes offered within his field. Looking toward the future, Mr. Therrien hopes to continue writing about his spiritual beliefs and philosophies for the benefit of those who may want to read them; should anyone be interested in the steps required to setup a similar organization, he would be happy to be of assistance.
