He also remains active as a civic-minded citizen, having participated with organizations such as the Italian Board of Guardians Inc. in New York City. Furthermore, he honorably served as the deputy chief of police of the North Bergen Police Department for 26 years. Well-regarded for his accomplishments, Mr. Sanzari has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career, including a National Merit Award from The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials in 2017 and 2022. Accounting for his achievements, he largely attributes his success to his fair-minded attitude and drive to help others.
