Mr. Cespedes leverages more than 20 years of experience as an expert in the aviation industry. Specializing in aircraft inspection and program management, he has operated as the director of programs at Collins Aerospace, a division of the Raytheon Technologies Corporation, since 2000. Additionally, in 2022, he became a senior manager for the company. Collins Aerospace is well-regarded for providing high-quality services and products for various sectors of the aviation industry, with the goal of continually improving and innovating for the future.
As part of his duties in the field, Mr. Cespedes played a large role in the recent restructuring of his company, in addition to his other responsibilities overseeing projects pertaining to commercial, regional, business and military aviation. Likewise, he also manages other team members, who handle tasks in value stream, customer support, and designing and manufacturing. Outside of his professional duties, Mr. Cespedes also builds, flies and competes with remote-control airplanes.
Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Cespedes cultivated his own formal education, beginning his studies at Miami Dade College, where he completed coursework in engineering. He subsequently continued his academic career at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and ultimately achieved a Bachelor of Science in professional aeronautics and aviation administration in 1992. As part of his ongoing dedication to his profession, Mr. Cespedes also remains active as a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
From an early age, Mr. Cespedes naturally gravitated towards a career in the field of aviation. To wit, his late father also worked in aviation, teaching his son all he knew about the industry and instilling in him his interest in flying. While Mr. Cespedes was initially interested in engineering, he grew more interested in the business aspects of the industry over time, and he pivoted his focus to aviation management, where he has found a wealth of success. He continues maintains his passion for his field as a whole, though, and in accounting for his accomplishments, he is particularly proud to have competed at the national level in model airplane competitions.
