Excelling in directing pre-college programs since 2004, Ms. Reaves is currently thriving in the role of executive director with the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program. She advanced to the executive director role in 2016 after serving as the deputy director from 2011 to 2016. Before joining the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, she held the position of assistant director of pre-college and outreach programs at Wayne State University from 2004 to 2011. In addition to these positions, she found success as a senior business analyst at the University of Michigan from 2004 to 2006 and as an operations manager with Data Consulting Group from 1998 to 2004.
Before thriving in her profession, Ms. Reaves pursued her formal education, initially earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1992. She then received a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University in 2003. As a testament to her success, Ms. Reaves was honored with myriad accolades, including a Non-profit Leader Award in 2022, an Excellence in STEM Award from the American Association of Blacks in Energy in 2018, and recognition as a Corporate Diversity Champion in 2020, a Notable Woman in STEM in 2019, and Michigan Chronicle’s Woman of Excellence in 2017.
Aside from focusing on her career, Ms. Reaves strives to make a difference in the younger generations’ lives. She wants them to know they have opportunities available to them. She saw the disparity among minorities and women while working at the University of Michigan, which led her to her industry. In the next few years, Ms. Reaves aims to bring her organization to national recognition.
