With more than 30 years of experience to her credit, Ms. De Paula is a proven expert in the field of artistry. Specializing in art administration and creative guidance, she has served as the vice president of the Universal Art Gallery in Venice, California since 1998. Originally founded by Ms. De Paula and her partner Lucas Da Silva in 1993, the business is well-regarded as one the best custom framing and printing suites in the Los Angeles region, as recognized by publications such as LA Magazine. To wit, their clientele consists of professional sports teams, museums, hotels, restaurants, interior designers, photographers and fellow artists.
In addition to overseeing her company’s custom framing services, Ms. De Paula also manages company materials and customer service. Likewise, she manages a full team of employees, as well as any and all insurance requirements. Originally from Brazil, Ms. De Paula began her career as a teacher, specializing in the Montessori program. As part of her ongoing dedication to her artistic efforts, she also remains affiliated with the Tambours of Venice.
As part of her civic-minded endeavors, Ms. De Paula has served as a care coordinator for the Kehillat Israel Reconstructionist Congregation of the Pacific Palisades since 2013. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, she pursued a formal education. Studying at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Florida, she studied fashion and apparel design from 1990 to 1994. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. De Paula is also fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and French.
In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. De Paula has largely attributed her success to her positive attitude and ability to effectively multitask. Accounting for her accomplishments, she is particularly proud of her roles as a mother and business owner. In the coming years, she looks forward to further developing her business, as well as her own creative works. As part of these efforts, Ms. De Paula is cultivating a new online gallery for her business, which will afford her greater options in terms of presentations and opportunities with fellow artists.
