Danyielle McGuire-Nelson, Departmental Analyst-Ombudsman at the State of Michigan, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social work.

With 26 years of experience to her credit, Ms. McGuire-Nelson has excelled as a departmental analyst-ombudsman and licensed master social worker for the State of Michigan since 1997. Before embarking on her professional path, she pursued an education at the University of Michigan, from which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1995. She continued her academic efforts at Wayne State University, earning a master’s degree in social work in 2003. Ms. McGuire-Nelson went on to receive graduate certificates in infant mental health, gerontology, and alcohol and drug abuse studies from Wayne State University in 2005, 2010, and 2014, respectively. She attained further certifications, including as a financial social worker, an insurance producer, a licensed social worker, and core supervisor.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. McGuire-Nelson has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She found success with her written works, which include “This Little Girl” in 2021, “Take It Easy: Tips You Need to Know Before Applying and Receiving General or Public Assistance” in 2022, and “Things To Consider About Public Assistance in Michigan” in 2022. Ms. McGuire-Nelson holds numerous certifications in diabetes prevention coaching and teaching English as a second language. In addition to her other appointments, she is active as a notary public and aromatherapist. Ms. McGuire-Nelson has served on the board of Deaf Matters since 2017, and is a member of the Order of the Fishermen Ministry, the National Notary Association, the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy, and Youngevity. 

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. McGuire-Nelson has accrued several accolades throughout her career, including a Proclamation from Wayne County in 2018. She was additionally featured in Millennium Magazine and was included in Brainz Magazine’s 500 List. In the coming years, Ms. McGuire-Nelson would like to further pursue her aromatherapy offerings and expand her notary business, as well as venture into wedding ceremony services.
