Gerard R. Gibert, CCP, Host of “MidDays with Gerard,” founder and chief executive officer of Venture Technologies, board member of the Madison County Development Authority and the Madison County Business League and Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in economic development.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Gibert has been the host of “MidDays with Gerard,” heard statewide each weekday on SuperTalk Mississippi, since 2020. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA), which appointed him to serve on the bord of the Madison County Business League and Foundation. In addition to these roles, Mr. Gibert has served on the board and as the vice chairman for the Mississippi Lottery Corporation since 2018.
In 1980, Mr. Gibert began his professional pursuits as a senior consultant with Arthur Anderson & Co., in the division that transformed into global digital strategic and digital consulting firm, Accenture, where he remained until 1985. In 1986, he became the founder and chief executive officer of Venture Technologies, where he proudly excelled for more than three decades, until the company was sold to ConvergeOne 2019. In 2019, Mr. Gibert garnered experience as the vice president for business development with ConvergeOne.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Gibert attended the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and economics in 1980. Alongside his formal degree, he holds a certificate in data processing from the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Mr. Gibert is also a Certified Computing Professional through the aforementioned organization.
Mr. Gibert has been recognized for his professional achievements with numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2015, 2016 and 2018, he was a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year. In 1996 and 2013, he was named Mississippian of the Year by the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Cited among the Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Mississippi, The Mississippi Business Journal also celebrated Mr. Gibert as a Top CEO and among the Tech Most Wanted and the Top 40 Under 40. ConnectWise Inc., recognized Mr. Gibert with their inaugural Innovation Award in 2017.
Mr. Gibert’s company, Venture Technologies, garnered an array of awards and honors during the company’s 33 years of operations. Cisco Systems recognized Venture as the 2018 Data Center Architecture Partner of the Year, 2017 Services Partner of the Year, SLED Partner of the Year in 2013, 2014 Solution Innovation Partner of the Year – U.S. Theater and Outstanding Solutions Partner of the Year in 2014. The MBJ also recognized Venture as one the Best Places to Work and as the 33rd Largest Private Business in Mississippi. In 2018, the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce recognized Venture as the Business of the Year.
Committed to his state and community, Mr. Gibert serves as a board member of the Southwest Chapter of the American Red Cross and Canopy Children’s Solutions. Additionally, Mr. Gibert contributes his time to the American Heart Association, Empower Mississippi and Innovate Mississippi, among other organizations. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, speaking, writing, playing golf and coaching youth sports.
