Malcolm Downie, Environmental Permitting and Compliance Strategist at Cedar Water Strategy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mining compliance.

Mr. Downie embarked on his educational journey, earning his Bachelor of Arts with honors in geography from Lakehead University in 1988 and a Doctor of Education in 1991 from the same institution. Parallel to his tenure in the mining industry, Mr. Downie dedicated substantial time to teaching and nurturing young minds as an educator. Drawing from his extensive background and experience in mining and education, he is renowned for his commitment to ensuring project completion aligns with client requirements.

Mr. Downie attributes much of his success to his family’s influence in the mining industry, particularly his father, a respected geologist in Canada, and his brother, a chief executive officer of a mining company. Notably, his pivotal role in sealing a large-scale deal with Newmont Corporation during his tenure at Premier Gold Mines Limited stands as a highlight in his career.
