She worked as vice president of operations and analytics and in executive management, budgeting, and project planning at the United Way of Greater Kansas City from 2015 to 2017.

Ms. Black continued her career as the foundation director of Rodgers Health from 2017 to 2018. She found success as chief development officer, grant writer, fundraiser, and strategic planner at Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center & Emergency Shelter for Children from 2019 to 2021. She was active as vice president, chief development officer, and interim vice president of programs and operations at the Urban League of Greater Kansas City from 2021 to 2022.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Black pursued an education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she completed coursework in electrical and computer engineering. She concluded her studies at Avila University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in information science. She holds certification and credentials from Nonprofit Connect, Valley Leadership, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Bloch Executive School of Management, and The George Washington University.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Black has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She held executive and leadership positions with Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the Midwest Whole Child Development Group. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, the Central Exchange Women’s Networking Group, and the Valley Leadership Program Arizona.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Black has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with the Black Achievers Award at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Chairman Quality Award. She was recognized for Best Practice for Delivering All Hands Recognition Webcast by the Sprint Office of Diversity and Inclusion and was the recipient of a personal development scholarship from Central Exchange.
