Prior to these positions, Mr. Motoyama found success with Cisco Systems as a senior systems manager from 1998 to 2013 and an account manager from 2013 to 2017.
Mr. Motoyama previously served as a network consultant for 3Com between 1995 and 1998. He previously made an impact in his field with GTE Hawaiian Tel, for which he worked as a system analyst technical administrator from 1985 to 1990, a staff and senior sales engineer from 1990 to 1994, and an account manager for business development networks from 1994 to 1995. Mr. Motoyama began his career with GTE Hawaiian Tel as a switching systems engineer from 1984 to 1985.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Motoyama pursued an education at Harvey Mudd College, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in general engineering with a concentration in electrical and electronics engineering in 1984. He concluded his studies at Chaminade University of Honolulu in 1989, graduating with a Master of Business Administration. Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Motoyama has contributed his wealth of knowledge to the board of directors and the building committee for The Hawaiian Mission Academy.
Renowned among his peers as a problem-solver, Mr. Motoyama attributes his success to his ability to work discreetly alongside his team, reach each goal with humility, and teach himself new skills in order to figure out new problems. Among his many accomplishments in his career, he is incredibly proud of obtaining a patent in the United States, a technological solution to preventing waste power from photovoltaic systems from entering renewable energy grinds that shows outstanding potential in the energy sector, as well as an additional patent in Taiwan. Looking toward the future, Mr. Motoyama hopes to utilize his inventions to improve and restructure power sites around the world while ensuring the sustainable use of environmentally friendly resources to create a better world for everyone.
