Kenneth L. Cheloha, Retired Chief Operating Officer at American Tool Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business administration.

With many years of experience to his credit, Mr. Cheloha has excelled as a founding member and partner with CrossRoads Shooting Sports in Des Moines, Iowa. Prior to this position, he was active as the chief operating officer for American Tool Company from 1985 until his retirement from full-time professional endeavors in 2007. During this time, Mr. Cheloha proudly helped to increase the sales of locking pliers by 500% and even supervised the acquisition of a division of Sears, which had been the largest seller of hand tools in the United States at the time.

From 1979 to 1989, Mr. Cheloha worked for the Peterson Manufacturing Company as a certified public accountant. He previously served in a number of posts with the Midwest division of Mid America Web Press in Macon, Nebraska between 1970 and 1979, including as the comptroller, the vice president of finance and the chief operating officer. Mr. Cheloha began his career as a certified public accountant in 1964, operating independently until 1970.

After initially earning an Associate of Arts as a salutatorian, Mr. Cheloha continued his academic efforts at the University of Nebraska, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting with a minor in finance and English in 1964 before graduating with a master’s degree in business in 1969. He has attributed his success to the influence and support of his family as well as his hard work, which is what enabled him to notably drive the profits of Mid America Web Press to $6 million within his first three years as an administrator. Previously featured in Who’s Who in the Midwest, he was likewise celebrated with the Elijah Watt Sells Award and the Platte County Agricultural Scholarship as a testament to his outstanding achievements. Looking toward the future, Mr. Cheloha hopes to fully retire from business ownership, which would include finalizing the sale of CrossRoads Shooting Sports to another organization.
