Patrick Dennis Burke, AIA, NCARB, senior vice president of architecture and design at Premier Design to Completion, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.
Mr. Burke has carved out a distinguished career in architecture over more than 30 years, culminating in his current role as senior vice president of architecture and design at Premier Design to Completion. He has full control over the company’s architecture department, including managing multiple projects and ensuring each is moving forward properly and achieving the company’s quality standards. Mr. Burke also garners new business leads while creating and submitting proposals for projects.
Prior to joining Premier Design to Completion, Mr. Burke served as principal and vice president of architecture at BRR Architecture. He contributed to RHA Architects for more than 10 years as chief operating officer, principal and licensed architect. Mr. Burke bolstered his reputation in his field as the managing director and architecture and engineering program manager of BSW International. His early career includes briefly working as a project manager and client program manager for WD Partners Inc.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Burke has provided guidance on many major architecture and design projects. One highlight included an adaptive reuse project in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he worked with a team for two years to convert a multistory department store and parking structure into a large retail space. This project showcased Mr. Burke’s ability to navigate complex jobs, and he remains proud of how the space was ultimately transformed.
A strong academic background provides the foundation for Mr. Burke’s success. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Drury University in 1989. In the years that followed, Mr. Burke has completed licensing to practice architecture in 34 states through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. His goal is to become licensed in all 50 states, an ambitious objective that he is well on his way to completing.
Mr. Burke has maintained professional affiliations with several pertinent organizations to remain aware of developments affecting his field. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Mr. Burke is also dedicated to giving back to the community through civic engagement outside his primary profession. He volunteers twice a year for charitable projects in and around the city of Dallas, offering up both his personal resources and those of Premier Design to Completion.
Mr. Burke attributes his success to the values instilled in him by his parents throughout his upbringing. His interest in architecture was sparked at a young age during visits to construction sites where his grandfather was working as a carpenter. Additionally, his parents taught him that hard work would pay off, which further encouraged him to pursue architecture as a career.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Burke is a devoted husband and father to two children. He enjoys soccer and playing golf. Alongside his journey to become licensed for architecture in all 50 states, Mr. Burke aims to continue developing Premier Design to Completion into one of the best architecture firms in the industry. Though he has considered retirement, he still finds joy in architecture and intends to keep working for the forseeable future.
