Kimberly Assisi, senior analyst at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in project management.

With over two and a half decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Assisi has established a distinguished career in project management, specializing in finance, risk, and compliance. She currently excels as a senior risk and compliance analyst at State Farm, a role she has held since 2014. In this capacity, she ensures agents follow the rules and regulations for their individual estates and manages projects by creating and executing change plans. She also analyzes the timing of multiple project deployments, preparing reports for executive leadership to identify potential pain points. Additionally, she keeps books updated within the enterprise agency department to keep agents informed, reviews process guides and standards, and evaluates policies and procedures related to the agents’ work. She also collaborates with numerous department teams to ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and updated annually, maintaining compliance with multiple regulatory requirements, and conducting risk assessments and control testing to uphold the organization’s standards.  

Ms. Assisi’s experience also includes roles as a consultant at State Farm in 2014, a bank compliance auditor at a nationwide full-service banking institution with TEKsystems from 2014 to 2016, and a business analyst specializing in project coordination, OCM/communications, and training at TEKsystems from 2012 to 2013. She served as the associate director of business affairs at the Illinois State University Foundation from 2007 to 2012 and as a business manager in energy management at Illinois State University from 2006 to 2007. Prior to these roles, she was the director of housing development at Mid Central Community Action, Inc. from 1999 to 2006 and a nursing home administrator from 1995 to 1999. She has also contributed as a costume designer and seamstress for the Central Illinois Ballet Company and the Bloomington/Normal Community Players. Her professional memberships include ISACA International, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and Sigma Iota Epsilon, an honorary management fraternity at Illinois State University. She has also served as past vice president and secretary of the local chapter of ISACA International. Additionally, she supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and participates in the annual St. Jude Run/Walk. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has received several awards, including being a three-time recipient of the Ovations Award at State Farm and being named Rookie of the Year at the Illinois State University Foundation.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Ms. Assisi earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Illinois State University in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration from the same institution in 2008. She also holds several certifications: Certified Risk and Information Security Controls, Certified Data Privacy System Engineer, and Certified Scrum Master. Reflecting on her career, she takes great pride in having made significant contributions to State Farm, primarily in risk and compliance. She was instrumental in developing a comprehensive process for risk assessments, identifying controls, and testing regulatory requirements. When she joined State Farm Bank, there was no such process in place, and she was one of six individuals who developed and implemented the entire process. She attributes her success to her unwavering commitment to hard work and determination, while also recognizing the importance of remaining open and receptive to the ideas and perspectives of others. In the coming years, she has set her sights on a continuing career path within State Farm, aiming to join the management team and take on additional responsibilities. She is also eager to collaborate with other areas of the company to tackle larger projects.
