He currently excels as the chief development officer at Security Properties, a role he has held since 2007. In this capacity, he manages the development team and oversees projects in the entitlement pipeline. Previously, he was the managing director and development project manager at Security Properties from 1992 to 2007. He is also a co-chair of the local chapter of the Workforce Housing Task Force and the Urban Land Institute. His achievements include being featured by The New York Times, receiving the Jack Kemp Award for Excellence, and having a project named Project of the Year for Best Mixed-Use Community by the National Association of Home Builders.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Marasco earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon, completed graduate coursework in civil engineering at the University of Washington, obtained a certification in real estate from the same institution, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker. He takes great pride in successfully completing and delivering approximately 3,000 housing units in the Portland and Seattle markets. He attributes his success to a combination of careful planning and a bit of luck, highlighting the importance of thorough due diligence to identify and address potential issues. Additionally, he credits his achievements to the strong relationships cultivated with development teams and investor partners, primarily a select group of national investors. As he looks to the future, his focus is on transitioning into retirement.
