Chris Compton, founder and chief executive officer at HVACRedu.net and HVACRedu Canada Ltd., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.
With over four and a half decades of experience, Mr. Compton has built a successful career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). He currently excels as the chief executive officer and founder of Blue C LLC, doing business as HVACRedu.net and HVACRedu Canada Ltd., a position he has held since 1997. In this role, he manages his team, sets the company’s vision, and ensures its execution. He also directs the company’s operations and stays current with industry trends by attending conferences and networking with other professionals. His experience also includes roles as an instructor at North Idaho College from 1991 to 2008, president and owner of Arctic Refrigeration & Heating from 1983 to 1991, and service technician at Western Refrigeration from 1979 to 1983.
Additionally, Mr. Compton served as a machinist apprentice at Independent Power Developers in 1979, maintenance and operations lead at Agate & Crescent Beach Park & Tree Farm from 1977 to 1979, a lead mechanic at Murphy Sumner Drilling Company and Independent Power Developers from 1975 to 1977, and was a MOS Recon – 11 Delta in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975. He holds memberships with the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society, served as past president of the Western International Association, has been a donor of 30 scholarships to Africa for more than 15 years, and serves as director of academic affairs to Africa.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Compton earned a Certificate in Distance Education from Tele-Training Academy, an HVACR Technician Certificate from J.M. Perry Trade School, a Commercial Single Engine Land/Instrument Flight Certificate from Pearson Flight School, and a V-73 Certified Mechanic from Detroit Diesel. Additionally, he is a Certified Arc Welder from Wiesars Welding School and has completed Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge Reproduction in Printing Propaganda with the 5th Psychological Operations Battalion. His credentials also include Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership from the 1st United States Army Non-Commissioned Officer Academy and Recon Ranger training from the U.S. Army, Fort Knox Armor School. Additionally, he is a Certified Master HVACR Educator and holds a private pilot’s license.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Compton was honored with the Top 25 HVACR Educators in the U.S. award in 2024, Best Instructor/Trainer by ACHR News in 2014, and the National Dealer Design Gold Award from ACHR News in 2011. Additionally, he was named one of the Top 10 Career and Technical Educators in the United States by the Association for Career and Technical Education in 1998 and was awarded the Imperial Award for Top Technician in Commercial Refrigeration in 1997. He attributes his success to his upbringing on a ranch in Northwest Montana, which he says instilled a strong work ethic in him. His says his leadership skills were further developed through his experiences with the Boy Scouts, Explorers, and the military. In the coming years, he is focused on continuing to grow his company. He says that although it has been a slow build, the company has gained momentum, and many of its initiatives have come to fruition.
