Reflecting on his path, after college, he explored opportunities with various companies, including those in the oil and gas sector. He sought a role that aligned with his studies, and energy companies appeared to be a natural fit. National Grid ultimately proved to be the best option for him, and he has now been with the company for three decades.

Mr. Calviou takes great pride in his journey from being a subject matter expert to an organizational leader. Leadership came naturally to him, and he is proud of the many individuals he has recruited, managed, mentored, and coached over the years. Additionally, throughout his career, he has successfully bridged the gap between technical engineering and business finance, uniting these areas to create effective solutions. He attributes his success to learning and sharing technical knowledge, collaborating with a wide range of people, and engaging in meaningful discussions with peers and colleagues. His focus on providing feedback fosters both personal and professional growth. In the coming years, he is committed to making a positive difference and plans to continue working with National Grid on business and customer strategies. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of seeking diverse perspectives on complex issues. Recognizing that there is rarely a single right answer, he stresses the need to listen to various viewpoints from external stakeholders and customer groups.
