Jeanine Marie Herzeg, senior property tax analyst and administrator at Sarnoff & Baccash, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in property tax.
After first discovering her skill with financial analysis while working as a bookkeeper for Crate and Barrel during college, Ms. Herzeg embraced a career in the field that has spread across nearly 40 years. She joined Sarnoff Property Tax (formerly known as Sarnoff & Baccash) as a property tax administrator in 1986. As her expertise developed, Ms. Herzeg was promoted to her current dual roles of senior property tax analyst and administrator. She helps the firm prepare for representing clients in Illinois and, through the National Association of Property Tax Attorneys, in several other states. Ms. Herzeg employs both analytical and creative skills in her work, handling bookkeeping, drafting briefs and editing publications. Among other highlights of her career, she has made major contributions to property tax books for the American Bar Association.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Herzeg laid an academic foundation she has relied on throughout her professional life. She first obtained a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and music at Mundelein College, graduating with honors in 1985. Following that, Ms. Herzeg completed coursework toward a Juris Doctor at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law. She started with Sarnoff Property Tax during this time and decided not to pursue a graduate degree. However, Ms. Herzeg returned to school in 1996, earning a Master of Arts in liberal studies from Loyola University Chicago. Dedicated to continued learning, she has gone on to complete professional courses from the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
Ms. Herzeg’s devotion to Sarnoff Property Tax reflects how the company’s founders, Bob Sarnoff and Mike Baccash, have valued her work. She credits much of her success to their support and guidance as she has grown in her position at the company. Though Ms. Herzeg intends to remain with Sarnoff Property Tax, she is also seeking opportunities to write for external publications.
