Edward J. Reidy, board chair emeritus of business development at various non-profits, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing and public relations.
With over four decades of experience, Mr. Reidy has built a successful career in marketing and public relations, with expertise in both union and non-union employee environments. He was invited by the Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center to join their strategic planning and finance committee, where he helped hire the executive director and contributed to innovation across various sectors. He has also supported political candidates and managed multi-year accounts, overseeing medical, legal, real estate, asset equity management, insurance, and beneficiary support for diverse age groups. Currently, he serves as a board member of The Olympic Club, a position he has held since 2017. His prior roles include director of business development at Argo Group from 2008 to 2019, vice president of sales at Niman Ranch from 2004 to 2006, senior director of business development at Andersen from 1999 to 2002, business development manager at Miller Brewing Company from 1996 to 1999, sales and distribution director at Pepsi International, PepsiCo from 1988 to 1996, and district manager at Oscar Mayer from 1981 to 1986.
Mr. Reidy also dedicates his time to The Ancient Order of Hibernians and serves as board chair emeritus of business development for various nonprofit organizations. He was board chair of the Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center from 2001 to 2018, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities and the elderly. When the center was facing financial hardship and near bankruptcy, under his guidance, the organization grew from less than $180,000 to a $35 million endowment. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in political science from Santa Clara University and a Master of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Colorado Denver. In 2009, he became a California property casualty insurance broker, certified by the California Department of Insurance. With a strong background in large-cap and global corporations, he has traveled extensively, collaborating with American technology companies before transitioning to professional service organizations.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Reidy’s most notable achievement was during his time at PepsiCo, where he played a pivotal role in organizing labor and managing the company’s supply chain. He was heavily involved in creating and leading sales teams and establishing manufacturing and distribution infrastructure in Russia and other countries in the former Soviet Union. He managed relationships with third-party service providers such as accounting, advertising, and public relations, while working as an expat in the former Soviet Union. He attributes his success to his drive, having relocated over 20 times and proactively taking initiative throughout his career. He remained active in sports during college, avoiding detrimental influences, and honors his 97-year-old father while cherishing the memory of his mother. Looking to the future, he aims to re-enter the workforce, not out of financial need but to find a renewed sense of purpose.
