Henry S. Hui, corporate vice president at Nikkiso, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in project management.

With two and a half decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Hui has built a successful career in project management, development, and execution. He currently excels as corporate vice president of H2 strategy and energy infrastructure at Nikkiso, a role he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he supports the chief executive officer and president across six divisions, acting as a business executive, market strategist, and engineer, and develops the strategic vision and action plans to deploy cryogenic equipment, process, and machinery technology for the company. His previous roles include serving as hydrogen director at Integrated Cryogenic Solutions from 2021 to 2022, director of special projects at Airgas Inc. from 2016 to 2021, complex systems engineering manager and senior design authority at IMPEG, Airgas Inc. from 2015 to 2016, and manager of strategic commercial solutions for energy storage and renewable energy at General Electric Company from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, he held several positions at The Linde Group Inc., including global manager from 2012 to 2013, principal proposal manager from 2008 to 2012, and project engineer from 2006 to 2008. Earlier in his career, he worked at BOC Limited as a business development engineer from 2002 to 2006 and senior systems engineer from 1997 to 2002.

Mr. Hui has been involved in several key projects, including “GE Signs Its Largest Battery Energy Storage Deal to Date” and “GE to Supply Battery Array in Canada Amid Growing Storage Demand” since 2015, as well as “Charting the Path to a Hydrogen Economy for a Sustainable Tomorrow” and “Con Edison Development Augments California Solar Plant with GE Energy Storage System.” Building a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University in 1997 and a Master of Engineering in chemical engineering in 2002. He also holds certifications from the Project Management Institute Inc. and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Recognizing his strengths in chemistry and math, he pursued a career in chemical engineering to explore his passion for science. He takes pride in leading a project to provide a high-pressure nitrogen system for the launch of a groundbreaking heavy-duty space vehicle, designed to carry a satellite worth over $1 billion. Despite the challenges presented by heightened tensions between North Korea and the United States, he successfully coordinated cross-functional experts to retrofit the launch site, ensuring the vehicle’s safe and successful launch.

In the coming years, Mr. Hui plans to drive the growth of the hydrogen economy by collaborating with industry partners, government agencies, and academic institutions to develop innovative solutions. Acknowledging the challenges and complexities involved, he is committed to uniting diverse stakeholders to make meaningful progress. One of his personal goals is to inspire and support field engineers in engaging with the energy sector and addressing global energy needs. He is also open to providing mentorship and coaching to help others succeed in this field. Additionally, he is considering serving on company boards to share his expertise, streamline project development, and enhance safety standards.
