Andres H. Oranges, head of America’s operating office and global treasury at Union Bank of Switzerland, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in strategic execution.

With nearly two decades of experience, Mr. Oranges has built a successful career in strategic execution, specializing in large-scale integrations, optimization, leadership planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He has excelled as the head of America’s operating office and global treasury at Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) since 2023, where he leads the integration of Credit Suisse entities into UBS operations. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing operational excellence across technology, compliance, risk, and finance, spending much of his day on strategic calls. He is also tasked with ensuring regulatory compliance and managing risk, as well as overseeing a portfolio of transformational strategic projects and programs, such as audit compliance, challenge management, and financial forecasting, and leads a team of 12 direct reports and approximately 45 indirect reports globally. His experience includes serving as chief operating officer for the department of finance at Société Générale in Paris, France, and New York, New York, from 2018 to 2023, and as chief operating officer for liquidity risk at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany, and New York, NY, from 2015 to 2018. 

Mr. Oranges also held roles in the chief investment officer and global treasury at JPMorgan Chase & Co., working in New York, Hong Kong, and London from 2012 to 2015, and worked on the trading floor at the Mercantile Exchange, Arb Oil, in New York from 2006 to 2012. In addition, he has been a lecturer in international finance and macroeconomics at Marymount Manhattan College since 2015 and serves on multiple committees within UBS. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marist College and a Master of Business Administration in corporate finance from Dowling College. He has achieved Chartered Financial Analyst Level II certification, is a Project Management Professional, and holds an Anti-Bribery and Corruption Certification from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.

Additionally, Mr. Oranges is deeply involved in Hispanic mentorship programs in New York City that support underprivileged high school students and serves as a mentor for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), an organization focused on the professional development of Latino individuals. He is also involved in UBS’s “Allies” internship program, which promotes female talent in the workplace, and mentors undergraduate students at both his alma mater and the institution where he teaches. His community contributions extend to board memberships with Helping Hands, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Aspetuck Land Trust, as well as volunteering at a local animal shelter. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has received awards from Deutsche Bank and Société Générale’s Diversity and Inclusion Employee Resource Group for his allyship in supporting women. 

Mr. Oranges attributes his success to learning from his peers and leveraging industry best practices and networks while staying grounded through nonprofit volunteering, teaching, and active listening. In the coming years, he aspires to become the organization’s chief operating officer, empowering his teams to reach their full potential, both professionally and personally, with the ultimate goal of passing leadership to them. His short-term objectives are focused on improving his team and enhancing the organization, building on the foundation he has already established.
