Mr. Rangel’s experience includes serving as operational risk officer and vice president at Citigroup Inc. from 2021 to 2024, and as cash and trade processing senior analyst and assistant vice president from 2019 to 2021. Prior to these roles, he worked as a securities and derivatives settlement analyst at Citigroup in Tampa from 2017 to 2019, and as an international personal banking relationship manager from 2015 to 2017. Earlier in his career, he was a personal banker at Fifth Third Bank from 2014 to 2015 and held multiple roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co., including relationship banker, business specialist, and manager on duty from 2012 to 2014, as well as a teller from 2011 to 2012. Before transitioning into banking and finance, he served as security manager at 7C Group in Venezuela from 2009 to 2010, and as a marine officer in the Armada de Venezuela from 2001 to 2008. He has been recognized with the prestigious Rafael Urdaneta Medal from the U.S. Navy in Venezuela and is a contributor to Disabled American Veterans.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Rangel earned a Bachelor of Science in naval science and operational studies from the Venezuela Naval Academy in 2001, and a Master of Business Administration in corporate strategy from PROFUTURO FIA Business School in 2023. He also holds a range of certifications, including cybersecurity risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance from Coursera in 2022, and a series of risk management, Scrum Master, and data analysis certifications from Coursera and Udemy in 2021. Additionally, he is certified in Lean Six Sigma, Agile delivery, and automation essentials, with expertise in Microsoft Power BI and business data analysis gained in 2019. His financial credentials include a Series 6 License and Florida life insurance and annuities certifications, which he held from 2002 to 2016.

Reflecting on his path, Mr. Rangel began his career as a teller at a Chase branch. Initially, it was just a job for him, but as he learned more about banking and financial services, he discovered a world of opportunities to grow a career within the industry. He decided to fully pursue this path and takes great pride in rising from humble beginnings in the U.S. to build a successful career in banking, which he believes has profoundly changed his life. He credits his success to his son, who inspires and motivates him to grow and succeed. In the coming years, he aims to continue his professional growth while helping others along their journey.
