Rebet K. Jones, PhD, owner and chief executive officer at J6 Management Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in project management.
With two and a half decades of experience, Dr. Jones has built a successful career in project management with a focus on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, engineering, and information technology. He currently serves as the president and chief executive officer of J6 Management Consulting, a position he has held since 2007. J6 Management Consulting provides information technology consulting services and currently partners with the Department of Defense, along with commercial contracts for AT&T and Home Depot. Since 2017, he has also been a part-time assistant professor at Kennesaw State University, Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, where he teaches students the principles of project management and design. He prepares them to work independently as project managers and leaders, emphasizing ethics and project management processes.
Dr. Jones’s career includes roles such as senior technical security project manager for IoT at AT&T from 2016 to 2017, senior IT project compliance auditor from 2013 to 2016, and senior program manager for business intelligence data warehousing from 2011 to 2013. He also served as senior IT program manager for cloud engineering at AT&T and supply chain logistics for The Home Depot Canada through J6 Management Consulting from 2010 to 2011. Prior positions include senior IT program manager at AT&T under J6 from 2007 to 2010, IT project manager for The Home Depot Headquarters in 2007, and program director at Family and Children First in 2006. Earlier roles include IT project manager at Siemens Information Systems from 2005 to 2006, vice president of operations at Methodist Home for Children from 2002 to 2004, IT project manager at Nortel Networks from 2000 to 2001, and international project manager at Lucent Technologies from 1996 to 2000.
Dr. Jones is an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, IEEE’s Computer Society, ISACA, and the Atlanta Project Management Institute. He also contributes to the International Association of Privacy Professionals and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he has served on the scholarship and nomination committees since 2019. In addition, he mentors youth through Junior Achievement USA, authors articles for professional journals, and has been recognized by the Grambling University National Alumni Association. He laid a solid educational foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering technology in 1992 and a master’s in international business and trade in 1996 from Grambling State University. He later earned a PhD in business administration and organizational leadership from National University in 2016, followed by a PhD in computer science from Capitol Technology University.
Dr. Jones holds extensive certifications in privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, and project management, including credentials as a certified information privacy manager, AI governance professional, ethical hacker, and associate chief information security officer. He has advanced AWS certifications in Security Specialty and Solutions Architecture, Agile, and risk management, along with AI product development training from MIT and DEI credentials, enhancing his project management expertise. Inspired by his parents’ limited educational opportunities, he embraced his own path with determination. He also credits his wife, whose support helped him launch and grow his business in 2007. Looking to the future, he plans to focus on research in technology and AI, consulting, and deepening his work in academia.
