Debra Shea, lead user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designer at Multifactor AI Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in product design.

Across a career spanning 15 years, Ms. Shea has quickly established herself as a flexible and dependable designer. As of 2024, she serves as the lead UI and UX designer for Multifactor AI Inc., an organization leading the way in implementing cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology into the process of automotive manufacturing. Prior to that, Ms. Shea contributed for over 5 years as a mobile UX designer for Warner Bros. Games, where she was the primary UX designer for Mortal Kombat Mobile. She gained experience in the field while working as a product designer for Certifix Inc., a UI and UX designer for UST Global and a UI and production designer for Adidas.

Ms. Shea’s early professional life focused on web and graphic design, including as web and brand designer and project coordinator at SatchelSatchel, an online store centered on handmade leather goods. She also demonstrated her skill in new businesses and fashion in the role of graphic apparel designer for Unbounded Clothing Co. With this company, Ms. Shea collaborated with a small team to launch the brand and build up a customer base in the tens of thousands within a year. Her career started in 2009 as a web manager, publicist and company secretary for the East Valley Children’s Choir, where she was responsible for designing and maintaining content updates for a website alongside project and event coordination.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Shea sought a strong academic foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in design with a minor in English from California State Polytechnic University Pomona in 2015. While studying at that institution, Ms. Shea participated in numerous exhibitions. She showcased her design work in juried exhibitions at Millard Sheets Gallery and Huntley Gallery, as well as the Earth Day Exhibition and the From Palate to Palette Exhibition, both of which were held at the Bronco Student Center. Ms. Shea returned to California State Polytechnic University as a guest speaker in 2021, providing students with a strong example of success to follow. She credits her accomplishments to curiosity, eagerness, and willingness to learn from coworkers, managers and others in the industry.

A volunteer within her local community, Ms. Shea is noted for supporting multiple meaningful causes. She gained a reputation for volunteering regularly while attending college. Since graduating, Ms. Shea has offered her guidance as a mentor through the User Experience Professionals Association. She also gave back to her field by serving as a community moderator for UX Beginner, an online community for those learning user experience design. Ms. Shea has joined several relevant industry organizations to help her stay updated on the latest news and trends. She holds membership in the User Experience Professionals Association, Hexagon UX, Interaction Design Association Los Angeles, and Los Angeles User Experience (LAUX).

Though she is no longer in school and has already made great strides in her career, Ms. Shea finds joy in studying subjects when she’s not working. She hopes to return to higher education and pursue a master’s degree in the near future. Ms. Shea’s long-term goals include leading larger teams and creating truly innovative products. She also aims to become a part-time teacher and aid others in their professional journeys.
