Mr. Schaub is an esteemed designer and the director of architecture at Alto Design LLC, a premier architecture and planning firm launched in 2019 alongside his partner, an interior designer. Based in Cincinnati, his firm has become known for providing various services for the residential sector, including new construction, kitchen and bathroom remodels, and other select projects. Additionally, Mr. Schaub specializes in installing custom cabinets, countertops, lighting, window treatments and flooring. Working with a small team of experienced professionals, Alto Design LLC takes pride in providing unique and elegant design options, service and expertise.
Having garnered over 35 years of professional success, Mr. Schaub began his career as an intern architect with Cornerstone Architects in 1989. He continually progressed, earning roles as a managing partner and project architect at Arcanum Architects LLC and as the sole practitioner of Chestnut Street Studio. Mr. Schaub also owned three different companies, merging them into one called Architect Plus (now Luminaut) in Cincinnati from 2011 to 2018. As a partner of the firm, he focused primarily on commercial architecture, ranging from senior living facilities to car dealerships. Moreover, Mr. Schaub earned experience in the classroom as an adjunct professor in the college of architecture and environmental design at Kent State University.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Schaub received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 1986 and a Master of Business Administration from the Jack Welch Management Institute in 2017. These degrees have been pivotal in is ability to provide superior design services while managing a successful business. Additionally, Mr. Schaub’s qualifications include a LEED AP+ HOMES credential through the U.S. Green Building Council. Eager for the future of his career, he aims to continue taking on challenging, diverse projects, like the Rauh House renovation that was once the childhood home of Emily Pulitzer, and earned him an award for his work. He also plans to open a second Alto Design location in Charleston.
