Jeffrey V. Gelfuso, retired chief product experience officer at Workday Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the software industry.
Mr. Gelfuso is lauded for his success and longevity in the software industry. He recently retired from Workday Inc. in 2023 as the chief product experience officer. Since then, he has kept busy as a founding member of the Design Executive Council in Seattle, a premier membership network of the world’s foremost design executives. Additionally, Mr. Gelfuso has been serving as an expert on Intro, an e-learning provider based in Los Angeles, in a remote capacity.
During his years at Workday Inc., Mr. Gelfuso began as a chief design officer overseeing the research, design and development of user experience across various products, platforms and devices from 2021 to 2023. In his subsequent position as a chief product experience officer, he managed the end-to-end experience of Workday’s products and user experience platforms. Before being recruited to Workday Inc., Mr. Gelfuso was the executive director of product design, user experience, and systems and tools at Facebook in Seattle from 2018 to 2020. He was also employed by Amazon as the director of customer experience and executive director of research, design, Concept Lab, CX Programs and Creative Studio between 2014 and 2018. Mr. Gelfuso’s career also included appointments with several other prominent organizations, such as Microsoft and Corbis. His work history dates to 1992 as a production director for Four Star Distribution/Special Blend.
Mr. Gelfuso attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where he completed coursework in design, visual communication and brand identity. He later completed advanced degrees, including a Master of Business Administration, while employed by Microsoft and Amazon.
In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Gelfuso has been active civically as a board member of the digital innovation advisory council for Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital and on the board of trustees at Cornish College of the Arts.
As an expert in the software industry, Mr. Gelfuso garnered success in envisioning, creating, designing, building and shipping products. During his tenure at Amazon, he notably led a team responsible for developing and delivering the user experience for ordering products, such as groceries, through the platform. Mr. Gelfuso’s ability to lead a series of cross-functional and diverse teams in the technology industry has been pivotal to his success. He has also been known for prioritizing the needs of his team members by fostering a supportive work environment where everyone can grow and develop through various training and mentorship opportunities.
Among various other accomplishments, Mr. Gelfuso secured several U.S. patents, including one for a computer-implemented system. He was also credited with building software at scale to serve hundreds of millions of people globally, which only a few major companies have accomplished. Moreover, Mr. Gelfuso was recognized among the Global CX Top 100 by HotTopics in 2024. He credits his success to his creativity, curiosity and dedication to lifelong learning.
