Katina Stergakos, vice president of consumer products, project management, creative operations and production design at Paramount Global, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in media and entertainment.
With over three decades of experience, Ms. Stergakos has established a successful career in media and entertainment. She currently serves as vice president of consumer products project management, creative operations, and production design at Paramount, Paramount Global, a role she has held since 2022. Her previous positions include vice president of global creative group, project management, creative operations, and production design at ViacomCBS from 2019 to 2022, vice president of project management, creative operations of property design and product development at Nickelodeon from 2010 to 2019, and vice president of project management, on-air promotions at Nickelodeon from 2009 to 2010. Earlier roles at Nickelodeon include executive director of project management for advertising and movie promotions from 2007 to 2009, senior director of project management for advertising from 2002 to 2007, senior manager of project management for advertising in 2002, and project manager for illustration from 1999 to 2002.
Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. Stergakos earned a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism with a minor in business from Ithaca College in 1993. She also dedicates her time as a volunteer with Ronald McDonald House Charities and assists an elementary school art teacher at PS87 NYC. She previously served as board president for a cooperative from 2008 to 2010 during her board service from 2007 to 2011. She is also a member of the National Broadcasting Society and Alpha Epsilon Rho at Ithaca College. Reflecting on her path, upon graduating, she secured a position at MTV’s print department, despite having limited prior experience in print media. Embracing the challenge with enthusiasm, she quickly adapted through hands-on learning.
Throughout her career, Ms. Stergakos has focused on leadership, creativity, efficiency, and collaboration, dedicating herself to professional excellence and team empowerment. Early in her career at Nickelodeon, she achieved a significant milestone by addressing inefficiencies in the company’s advertising approach. At the time, the creative team relied heavily on an external advertising agency to promote Nickelodeon consumer products. However, the advertisements often failed to align with Nickelodeon’s unique identity. Recognizing this gap, she proposed establishing an in-house creative advertising team to ensure consistency and efficiency. After preparing a compelling presentation, she pitched her idea to the senior vice president, who embraced the proposal. This initiative fostered synergy between print advertisements and on-air commercials, enhancing the overall impact of Nickelodeon’s marketing efforts.
Another notable accomplishment was implementing software to securely distribute confidential creative materials to internal and external global teams. As the consumer products creative team began working with theatrical materials, movie studios raised security concerns, given that the team required access to assets years before a film’s release. Through thorough research, cross-departmental collaboration, and outreach to software providers, Ms. Stergakos identified and implemented a solution that ensured secure and seamless sharing, addressing studio concerns while streamlining the creative process.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Stergakos was honored with the CableAce Award for excellence in cable television programming. She attributes her success to viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and emphasizes the importance of continuous effort in achieving her goals. In the coming years, she envisions significant professional growth by seizing new opportunities, adapting to change, and honing her skills. She is also dedicated to volunteer work that aligns with her core values, aiming to make a meaningful impact on her community. Additionally, she is focused on expanding her professional network and mentoring emerging talent in the industry, fostering a culture of growth, development, and innovation.
