After more than 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Kost has established himself as an expert in bridging operations and technology, partnering with news divisions and serving as a conduit connecting the business and technical sides of major media organizations. His current role as a senior program manager at NBCUniversal Media LLC began in 2025. In this capacity, he provides guidance and support to his team by conducting regular check-ins with members, proactively preparing to mitigate potential issues, and ensuring that resources and personnel are allocated appropriately. Mr. Kost assumes full responsibility for project outcomes and facilitates clear communication to prevent disruptions before they escalate. Mr. Kost’s expertise extends to forecasting, evaluating return on investment and leveraging data analytics, such as Nielsen ratings, to track key performance indicators. He is also involved in news gathering projects, field operations and remote planning.
Before his current position, Mr. Kost served as a senior technical project manager and program lead at Everest in Warren, New Jersey, from 2022 to 2025. There, he managed complex technical projects and led cross-functional teams through evolving challenges in infrastructure and digital transformation. Recruited from Verizon in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Mr. Kost excelled as an infrastructure and technical project manager between 2020 and 2022, where he oversaw large-scale initiatives focused on network reliability and service delivery.
Mr. Kost spent over 15 years with NBCUniversal Media LLC. Hired in 2004 as an executive support for client services at NBC News, he spent over five years providing support for the “Today Show.” He then became a senior technical specialist in network news field operations and engineering at NBC News between 2010 and 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Mr. Kost held the role of technical project manager at NBC News in New York City, where he coordinated high-profile news coverage and managed logistics for major events. From there, he became a manager of business engagement for service delivery until 2020. In this capacity, Mr. Kost facilitated collaboration between business units and technical teams to ensure seamless service implementation.
Mr. Kost began his professional journey as a desktop support technical analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York from 1999 to 2000 before moving to RWD Technologies Inc. (now GP Strategies) in Princeton, New Jersey, as a network telecommunications administrator from 2000 to 2004. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated remarkable adaptability by staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends while managing the pressures of tight deadlines and budget constraints.
After acquiring an Associate of Science in business administration and management from Middlesex College in 1997, Mr. Kost earned a bachelor’s degree in network engineering from The Chubb Institute in 1999. Additionally, he completed coursework in computer engineering at Rutgers University. This foundation has been instrumental in supporting his ability to navigate complex technical environments and deliver successful outcomes across various roles.
Mr. Kost also holds numerous industry credentials that underscore his expertise. These include recognition as an agile certified practitioner from the Project Management Institute, a certified SAFe scrum master from Scrum Alliance Inc., designation as a project management professional from the Project Management Institute, several credentials through Microsoft, and, among others, A+ certification from CompTIA Inc. Outside of his field, Mr. Kost acquired certification as both a youth hockey coach and baseball coach.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Kost is an active member of the American Irish Association of Woodbridge, USO Inc., BPO Elks and other civic organizations. He also coaches both hockey and baseball locally, reflecting his belief that structured activities keep children engaged while teaching teamwork and accountability. Mr. Kost has volunteered with nonprofit organizations, such as Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, has participated as a fundraiser for both Tunnel to Towers Foundation and March of Dimes, and chaired the 2026 Irish American Club’s 52nd American Irish Parade.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kost’s most notable achievement has been his extensive and courageous reporting on both uplifting and tragic events around the world, where he spent extensive time on the ground with correspondents and crews covering significant events. From natural disasters and acts of violence to the Olympics and meetings with influential figures like the Pope, his work required skillfully handling these diverse narratives, not only informing the public but also providing meaningful insights that foster understanding and awareness.
Mr. Kost received several GEM Awards from NBCUniversal Media LLC for outstanding contributions. In recognition of his leadership during the 52nd American Irish Parade in 2026, he received Letters of Recognition from the governor and local dignitaries.
Attributing his success to a strong work ethic, Mr. Kost also notes positive mentorship for playing a pivotal role in shaping his approach. Additionally, he credits a solid family support system for helping him balance demanding work hours with personal commitments. Looking ahead, Mr. Kost intends to remain highly engaged within program management, advancing into positions overseeing larger teams while adapting to technological advancements like artificial intelligence, all while preserving meaningful connections among colleagues across departments.
