Mr. Nair, an esteemed professional in the private equity sector, has been leading Oliver Wyman as a partner since 2021 and as North America lead for private capital post-deal operations since 2023. He continues to excel by improving operational efficiency and profitability of acquired businesses, analyzing and optimizing business processes post-acquisition to maximize returns for private equity firms, and, among other responsibilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives that drive value creation. Mr. Nair’s success was predicated on his past performance as a partner and managing director of private equity at SSA & Company in 2020 and as an engagement manager, senior engagement manager, partner and chief operating officer at Mitchell Madison Group between 2013 and 2020.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Nair worked for Sandvik Coromant as a productivity improvement engineer and manufacturing consultant, Keystone Strategy as a strategy consultant, Opera Solutions as a strategy and operations consultant, and PwC Management Consulting as a senior consultant. He also interned in productivity improvement and manufacturing consulting at Maclean-Fogg. Mr. Nair decided to pivot into consulting in 2009 partly because it has made him more well-rounded in various other industries. While working in consulting, he ultimately discovered that he was most passionate about private equity. Since 2014, he has focused solely on consulting for private equity clients.
Highly educated, Mr. Nair holds a Bachelor of Engineering in manufacturing and mechanical from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Subsequently, he attended Dartmouth College, receiving a Master of Engineering in management, strategy and operations. Mr. Nair speaks eight languages fluently and is presently learning German and Japanese. Besides his work-related accomplishments, Mr. Nair has been a pro bono strategy consultant for the Taproot Foundation, giving back to serve others, and is a member of the Freemasons. In 2024, he was recognized among the Top 25 Private Equity Consultants Globally. Eager to continue expanding his team, Mr. Nair remains steadfast about maintaining positive client relationships and building new connections while fostering curiosity and enthusiasm among his colleagues, particularly those new to the field.
