Joining Banks, Finley, White & Co. after many years in the field, Mr. Butler began his career as an audit supervisor with Ernst & Young, an international leader in information technology services and consulting, in 1999. After more than five years with the firm, he was recruited by Kellogg, Brown & Root as a senior consultant. From there, Mr. Butler was offered a position as an audit manager with Baird, Kurtz & Dobson from 2006 to 2007, where he was responsible for a team of auditors.

Continually making a name for himself, Mr. Butler became an assurance senior manager with Binder Dijker Otte USA LLP, a Chicago-based accounting firm, from 2007 to 2014. PulteGroup recruited him as a corporate audit director before returning to consulting as a controllership operations consultant with Vaco between 2017 and 2018. Mr. Butler also succeeded in his leading role as the senior vice president of enterprise risk management and internal controls at Primerica from 2019 to 2020, where he was tasked with developing, managing and reporting on the company’s enterprise risk management program, and as the chief accounting officer at Astec Industries Inc. in 2020.

Possessing a rich educational background, Mr. Butler earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1999. Subsequently, he attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where he acquired a Master of Business Administration in international business and entrepreneurship in 2024. Additionally, Mr. Butler received credentials as a certified public accountant through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in 2005, making him highly qualified in his field.

Mr. Butler remains relevant through his membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The organization helps him stay abreast of industry trends and standards and network with like-minded individuals. Besides his professional commitments, Mr. Butler enjoys volunteering for worthwhile causes, such as Habitat for Humanity, where he can give back and serve others within his community.

Among Mr. Butler’s many accomplishments, he was credited with initiating the analysis of the certified public accountant examinations by the AICPA in 2010. He also draws tremendous satisfaction from working with clients and positively impacting their lives.

Mr. Butler attributes much of his success to a clear purpose and a commitment to generational growth, knowledge and wealth. This philosophy has been his guiding force, consistently applied diligently in all his endeavors.
