Originally born in Lebanon, Mr. Debs has embraced life as an entrepreneur from a young age. Immigrating to the United States in the 1970s, he introduced U.S.-designed communications equipment to Lebanon and other countries in the region for the first time. From 1973 to 1975, Mr. Debs went on to sell that equipment to Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In 1984, he launched his first company, Omicron Corporation, which he operated until he acquired Advanced Technology Systems Company in 1999 and merged the two organizations.
Since 1999, Mr. Deb has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Advanced Technology Systems Company. Based in Virginia, Advanced Technology Systems Company is a contractor covering projects in military, government and commercial ventures. As the chairman and chief executive officer, Mr. Debs oversees the company’s growth strategies and overall structure. He collaborates regularly with teams focused on finance, technology and innovation. Mr. Debs has led the company in partnerships with the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, NASA, the Army, and many other U.S. government agencies. Advanced Technology Systems Company’s numerous areas of expertise include cyber security, logistics and communications.
Mr. Deb’s professional efforts have been supported by his academic background. He earned a Bachelor of Science in commercial sciences from the Centre d’Expert et de Reviseurs in Lebanon in 1971. Additionally, Mr. Debs is aided in his international career by his extensive knowledge of different languages. He speaks Arabic, English, French and Spanish. As a further commitment to his field, Mr. Debs has been active with several industry-related organizations. He maintains membership in the Association of the United States Army and the Customs and Border Control Association.
Well-regarded for his contributions, Mr. Debs has garnered several notable accolades. In 2010, his company was named One of the Best Towing Companies in Northern Virginia by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Debs received the Patriotic Employer Award for Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve from the Department of Defense in 2017. He credits his success to his strong faith and his belief in keeping a positive attitude no matter what.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Debs has demonstrated his stalwart patriotism through regular civic engagement. He currently serves on the board of directors for the René Moawad Foundation, which promotes sustainable development in support of stability in his home country of Lebanon. Mr. Debs has been a member of the Amideast/Lebanon Advisory Board for Amideast Inc. since 2012 and the board of directors for the Washington Tennis Education Foundation since 2009. He was previously associated with the board of directors for The American Foundation for St. George Hospital.
Beyond his career, Mr. Debs is a devoted husband and a loving father to one son and grandfather to one grandson. He emphasizes the importance of family and hopes to build even stronger relationships within his family in the years ahead. Mr. Debs dedicates much of his time both in and outside of work to thinking about the future of technology. He looks forward to mastering new technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum computing and hopes to position Advanced Technology Systems Company to be at the forefront of these innovations.
