Before being named to his present position at Reckitt, Mr. O’Dell was the IT&D director for Latin America from 2017 to 2023. During this time, he was pivotal in managing a significant acquisition in Mexico that doubled the business size from approximately $750 million to nearly $1.5 billion. Mr. O’Dell was instrumental in directing the IT function, which initially comprised only two individuals, and successfully expanded the team to approximately 20 members. His efforts in developing nearshore capabilities for data analytics and digital marketing technology solutions were recognized as more cost-effective and efficient than traditional offshore services.
From 2015 to 2016, Mr. O’Dell served as the information systems (IS) country manager for Brazil at Reckitt. His earlier tenure as a senior business analyst for Northern and Central Europe, dating back to 2012, involved analyzing business processes and implementing improvements aligned with corporate objectives. Before this role, Mr. O’Dell was a business analyst for Southwestern Europe between 2007 and 2012.
Mr. O’Dell’s career began at Balfour Beatty PLC, an international infrastructure group also based in the U.K., where he worked as a business improvement adviser from 2003 to 2007. This experience laid the foundation for his future endeavors in IT by providing him with insights into process optimization and management strategies.
Throughout his career, Mr. O’Dell’s journey has seen him reside in five countries over the past 15 years. He values cultural and social diversity, which has enhanced his career significantly. Although his mobility has become more challenging as his family has grown, he enjoys reconnecting with communities wherever he goes.
Highly educated, Mr. O’Dell has held a Bachelor of Science in biology and management studies since 2001 and a Master of Science in technology and innovation management since 2002 from the University of Sussex in Brighton, U.K. His educational background has been instrumental in his ability to understand and deliver technological solutions tailored to team needs. Besides his formal education, Mr. O’Dell holds information technology infrastructure library certification, underscoring his expertise in IT service management.
