Before being acquired by Citigroup Inc., Mr. Lacombe was a senior marketing manager at PayPal in New York City from 2021 to 2022. His responsibilities were similar as he drove the go-to-market strategy and marketing operations performance for consumer growth in both B2B and B2C globally. Previous to PayPal, Mr. Lacombe worked as a service specialist at Ultimate Kronos Group, a software development company, in Weston, Florida, between 2020 and 2021.
Mr. Lacombe’s tenure at American Express from 2009 to 2019 was marked by continued growth and several key roles. He began by leading global credit administration efforts from 2009 to 2012 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then served as a team leader for United States premium travel and lifestyle servicing in Miramar, Florida, from 2012 to 2015, before working as a marketing program analyst for international and domestic lodging, where he was influential in renegotiating Fine Hotels and Resorts contracts. Between 2015 and 2019, Mr. Lacombe excelled as a senior marketing analyst for partnership marketing capabilities in Greater New York City. He also briefly served as a product manager for U.S. consumer marketing in 2019, where he developed strategies to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
Recruited to American Express from Saveology.com, Mr. Lacombe gained valuable experience as a senior project manager in Fort Lauderdale from 2007 to 2008 after working for Aptitude Solutions as a project manager between 2006 and 2007. His early career included a supervisory role at AT&T Mobility in Orlando, Florida, from 2000 to 2006.
Mr. Lacombe’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in management information systems and finance from the University of Central Florida in 2004. His education has been instrumental in shaping his analytical and strategic thinking abilities, which have been pivotal throughout his career. Mr. Lacombe further enhanced his skills through certifications, including as a credentialed marketing director through ELVTR US LLC, and completing various LinkedIn courses on strategic thinking and business process improvement.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Lacombe is deeply committed to community service and social impact initiatives. He has been an active steering committee member for the Black Heritage Network at Citigroup Inc. and the Black Employee Network at American Express. Mr. Lacombe’s dedication extends to volunteering for initiatives to create financial inclusion and racial equity pathways for underserved communities.
