Ms. Russell has devoted her career to the agricultural sector, where she has been affiliated with Syngenta for over a decade. Initially garnering experience as a sales intern in 2015, she pivoted into the role of development sales representative for the organization in 2016. Ms. Russell’s career continued to flourish, marked by a series of progressive roles that have honed her expertise in people development, cross-cultural communication skills, leadership, facilitation and relationship building. In 2016, she transitioned to a developmental sales representative role before becoming a crop protection sales representative later that year.

In her present position since 2021, Ms. Russell serves as a field force excellence and training commercial unit lead, allowing her to collaborate with internal teams and external customers to enhance people skills and capability development. As such, she is responsible for creating leadership strategies, developing talent and implementing development initiatives while providing one-on-one coaching and facilitating workshops.

Syngenta is a leading agriculture company based in Basel, Switzerland. The organization’s mission is to provide the sustainability, quality and safety of agriculture via world-class science and innovative crop solutions. Syngenta, a part of Syngenta Group, employs over 50,000 individuals across more than 100 countries.

Ms. Russell’s academic background laid a strong foundation for her professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural business operations, agronomy and crop science and a Master of Science in agricultural economics from Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale in 2015 and 2016, respectively. These degrees have equipped Ms. Russell with the analytical skills necessary to excel in her roles at Syngenta. Her fact-based approach and hard work have been instrumental in her achievements.

While pursuing her degrees, Ms. Russell interned with AgriGold, a farming business in Illinois, in 2013. Subsequently, she was a merchandising intern at ADM in South Carolina, a global agricultural supply chain manager and processor based in Chicago.

Ms. Russell’s commitment to agriculture extends beyond her professional endeavors. She is an active member of several industry and civic organizations, including the National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Organization, Illinois Agri-Women, the St. Louis AgriBusiness Club, the Sigma Alpha Sorority and the SIU Alumni Association. Moreover, Ms. Russell enjoys donating to charities like Meals from the Heartland and Ronald McDonald House Charities, further underscoring her dedication to community service.

In addition to her primary career efforts and industry-related memberships, Ms. Russell has found success as a keynote speaker at Women Changing the Face of Agriculture, hosted by Illinois Agricultural Education & FFA. This opportunity enabled her to inspire others with her industry insights and experiences.

In recognition of her contributions to agriculture, Ms. Russell was honored with the Cowgirl 30 Under 30 award by Cowgirl Magazine in 2025. She also received the American FFA Degree, the highest honor awarded by the National FFA Organization and given to members for demonstrating commitment and accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experience.

Ms. Russell plans to continue sharing the story of agriculture while nurturing the next generation that will contribute to the world’s well-being. Additionally, she aims to focus on personal growth while embracing challenges and enjoying time with her family.
