Rick Crowe, Managing Partner and Owner at D.C. Prime, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in the Food and Beverage Industry.

Mr. Crowe has established himself as a distinguished figure in the food and beverage industry, with a career spanning over three decades. As the managing partner and owner of D.C. Prime since 2015, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise, contributing to the restaurant’s success through meticulous attention to detail in operations and customer service.

Located in Ashburn, Virginia, D.C. Prime opens daily at 4 p.m. and offers open seating and private dining for special affairs. Featuring a unique and exquisite menu comprising USDA prime beef exclusively, and an array of freshly sourced seafood options from North Coast Seafood of Boston, Massachusetts, the restaurant also hails its whole lobsters from Maine and its sea bass from Hawaii. Complementing his food menu, Mr. Crowe has created an extensive, award-winning wine list comprising over 500 choices and a significant bourbon selection, further underscoring his commitment to excellence. Although not required, reservations are recommended.

Before establishing his successful restaurant, Mr. Crowe garnered success in hospitality as the general manager of Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning in 2012. His tenure at Sullivan’s was marked by his ability to foster growth and mentor individuals within the organization. Before this, Mr. Crowe held the same position at McKendrick’s Steakhouse in Atlanta, Georgia, from 2004 to 2011, where he honed his skills in managing high-end dining establishments.

Mr. Crowe’s journey in the restaurant industry began after a brief stint in banking with Benefit Trust, where he worked on retirement plans for nearly two years. Seeking a more fulfilling career path, he transitioned into the hospitality sector as a manager trainee at LongHorn Steakhouse in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1993. This pivotal decision set the stage for his future accomplishments and passion for the industry.

Mr. Crowe’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in history from Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina, completed in 1991. This academic foundation has played a significant role in shaping his approach to business and guest relations.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Crowe is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the board of Loudoun Therapeutic Riding, an organization that supports individuals with disabilities and military personnel with post-traumatic stress disorder through equine therapy. His involvement is driven by a personal connection to horses, inspired by his grandfather’s legacy of raising palomino horses. Furthermore, Mr. Crowe volunteers with Loudoun Cares, working alongside his general manager to connect individuals facing homelessness or abuse with essential resources.

Throughout his career, Mr. Crowe has been recognized for his contributions to the industry, receiving accolades such as the coveted Dorona Award. Established in 2024, this honor represents the pinnacle of exceptional dining, achieved by fewer than 20 restaurants across North America in its inaugural year. D.C. Prime has received numerous other accolades, such as the DiRōNA Achievement of Distinction in Dining, a Zagot Award of Excellence, recognition as the Best Steakhouse in Northern Virginia, and among the Top 10 Best Steakhouse of the D.C. Area and Best Restaurant by Open Table. Mr. Crowe attributes his success to creating meaningful guest experiences and balancing work with family responsibilities.

Looking ahead, Mr. Crowe envisions steady growth for D.C. Prime while maintaining its unique character and neighborhood importance. He remains open to expanding with an additional location but prioritizes preserving the qualities that make his establishment distinctive. Ultimately, Mr. Crowe aims to offer an exceptional dining experience that combines D.C.-quality cuisine with local accessibility and excellence for all patrons.
